Imagine, for a change, there is a public talk show host who has invited two networkers to speak about their respective network marketing home businesses. Maybe, some day soon, mainstream media may publicize more the value of this unique home business industry. But judging by this conversation, as networkers, we need to be sure we have options to make it work right for the majority of entrepreneurs.
HOST: Let's start with a broad statement that in a tough recessionary economy, a home based business is a good avenue. Network marketing has been around since the 1950's and, like most other industries, has experienced ebbs and flows with their millionaire evangelists and quicksand operators. It may take a licking but it just keeps ticking. So, it's my pleasure to introduce Attraction Mitch and Average Milly who have different viewpoints about network marketing.
Now the first question has always puzzled me. Is it true that as many as 95% of networkers do not have success in multi-level marketing. What's your opinion about why?
MITCH: Basically ONE reason because too many get set up with a website and also a lottery- like mentality that's all it takes. Now couple that with a lack of internet marketing training and this website doesn't produce for them.
MILLY: A number of reasons because I agree most people have no real marketing training. Sometimes the product may be questionable, the training is over complicated, the comp plan doesn't pay enough or the company itself can go under. We need to do more to protect the rights of the independent distributor.
HOST: So there seems to be agreement on internet marketing training as a component. So what are some of the first steps that new distributors need to do?
MITCH: Our goal is to build an internet empire with leadership as the greatest commodity. So we try to develop experts that others will follow. We don't bother our friends and family but we look for prospects that are open to our leadership programs.
MILLY: Let's remember that network marketing is founded on the principles of average people looking for a better lifestyle based on a small start up cost and sweat equity. It has never been about cultivating and duplicating leaders although they obviously serve a purpose. Personally, I don't wish to present myself at a podium but I do want to be the best networker by helping other people succeed. Besides, if an opportunity is good enough for a "virtual " stranger then it should also be good enough for my friends.
HOST: So give me some examples of how you would build leaders in network marketing.
MITCH: We do have a blueprint outline that helps internet marketers build a list with even some monetary gains on the "back end". We will sell you all the "transformational technology" to take you from zero to hero...DVD's, training centers, conference calls, tons of experts. We cover topics like keyword research, making money with your blogs, using Facebook on autopilot, article marketing, list building, closing techniques, solo ads, classifieds and forums, Twitter, YouTube and more. Why not follow the best?
HOST: That's quite an online smorgasbord! Now another fact is that 90% of networkers are part-time versus full time. How can they fit in the time factor to do all this?
MILLY: Undoubtedly, it works for some red hot online marketers and they have the resources to produce. But for an average person like myself, it takes 10 minutes just to place ONE ad in an ezine and who likes to write, period? Most people are just surviving with everything else.
We must offer the public some options. And yes, we can also keep it simple.
Two questions suffice: What do you really want? What really works for you?
And the easiest thing that everyone can do is share a phone message, an invitation to a webinar and let a top CEO to work on your behalf by telling the whole story for you.
My passion is to make sure everybody understands the true nature of this home business based on a fair and democratic marketing plan, trustworthy relationships and word of mouth sharing good products and a risk free way of earning supplementary income.
HOST: So why do you think network marketing is viewed negatively by so many people...even if you apply this equality factor ?
MILLY: I agree that public perception needs to be vastly improved. The good news is network marketing has evolved. .
It was my great fortune to discover a new opportunity that monetizes new distribution channels on the internet. You can now participate with the fastest growing major trends of e-commerce. There is no cost to try out a valuable shopping application and minimal cost to become a distributor and earn serious money. Training is based on 3 Steps that everyone can do. You don't need to know about the industry, the company, the products, the comp plan, selling techniques, life coaches, personal development worksheets. Don't we all want to be better given an equal chance? Doesn't free enterprise also include grassroots?
HOST: Sounds like a viable alternative.
MITCH: Our motto is get off the fence and get a life. If you want the gold mine, we have all the tools although you may need a loan just to get your online marketing education. Some networkers are willing to pay $3 to $5 per "real" lead. In fact, if you can't stand the heat in this system, remove yourself from our list. In fact, one of my top producers recently won $140,000 automobile by helping to massively promote my newest marketing program.
MILLY: Congratulations. I would've expected no less from your magnetic leaders and their competitive infiltration on the worldwide web. But personally, I would rather spend precious time with my family than emulate the top dogs. You know, Mitch, my concern is with every day people like me who try hard without the time reources of becoming an internet expert. We have families, jobs and communities to support. We may not have the democracy of backgrounds and bank accounts, but we have equality of hope for security and success.
Give us a professional website, a webinar to share and a phone call to follow-up and a motivation built on earning money quickly.
HOST: Well, we do agree on one thing that many every day people need a helping hand in a changing economy. The internet is a vast and confusing place filled with personal pitches and agendas and everyone needs to do their due diligence. Hopefully, there are degrees of integration with being a top internet marketer and a more home-based entrepreneur helping people with simple fundamentals.
In closing, do you have a summary statement?
MITCH: In the real world its location, location, location. On the the internet world you can master it with automation, automation, automation. By the way, we have the latest "stuff on the stick" which is all about Google and the right networker can make millions using it.
MILLY: I invite both veteran networkers and beginners, baby boomers and the internet savvy up-coming Y Generation to check out new standards and true independence in network marketing with a new company called My Shopping Genie.
I welcome an honest dialogue. This time, let's keep this a people's business not a conspiracy of the elite.
If I may, I'd like to share one quote by William Penn:
"I expect to pass through this life but once. If, therefore there can be any kindness I can show or any good thing I can do for any fellow being let me do it now... as I shall not pass this way again."
