January 8, 2011 would have been Elvis Presley's 76th birthday. His super stardom has become larger than life, transcending race, age, and even death. He continues to make more money every year after his death than he ever made while he was alive.
He had extraordinary talent. The only connection between Elvis and the network marketing world is found in this word TALENT and how it applies in a different way to network marketers.
We do not claim to have extraordinary talent. We are ordinary average people with an above average desire to deserve something better. We have no innate talent to play sports, sing a song, say a speech, walk a catwalk, dance with the stars, play a leading role in a movie, motivate an audience, write a book or manage a company. We celebrate the superstars and their well-honed talents and well-deserved celebrity lifestyles. But we are also privy to celebrating our own lives with more time and money freedom at a level that works for us.
Our special talent is being a messenger and using the leverage of a top expert or extraordinary company by which to make residual income from home. Done correctly, the network marketing home business based on leverage by powerful experts and duplication of a simple message can create the kind of incomes that superstars would also admire.
We must not let any form of excuse stop our ability to use a phone and computer in order to leverage the talent of top business experts.
Even Elvis had his drawbacks growing up in Mississippi and Tennessee. He was shy and really didn't like singing in public and he learned to play a guitar by watching other people. He got a C in music from his Grade 8 teacher and was often bullied by his classmates because he stood out from the crowd with slicked-back hair and funky clothes. As a young man he failed an audition with a local singing group because they said "he couldn't sing."
His first recording session didn't go well. But it ended with his legendary acting out of an old blues song called "That's All Right." Jumping around and "acting the fool" caught the attention of the record producer.
"Back up and do it again," he said. He had found the sound he had been looking for...the mixing of uptempo rockabilly, an energetic backbeat fusion of country, rhythm and southern African-American blues.
Sun Records released the album. No one had ever heard anything like it before.
And within three years, Elvis Presley was an international superstar with his uninhibited performance style which made him enormously popular—and controversial. His managers had combined natural talent with something new and different that caught attention. So many real moments of people's lives became intertwined with his lingering lyrics.
Whether or not you're a fan of the man or his music, there's no question that Elvis Presley is the world's first modern superstar. He died in Aug. 16, 1977 at the age of 42.
So is there a possible lesson for network marketers here? There is a handful.
1. It doesn't matter what our backgrounds are...we need to believe in ourselves and keep practicing.
2. We need to step beyond old, difficult methods of network marketing and find that brilliant innovation which sets new standards in this industry and blows everybody away with its simple "beat" to make money and better memories.
3. We do not need to be the King of Rock and Roll, but we can be the King or Queen of the Message and the 3 Steps Plan.
4. We do not need any special singing and dancing talent. Our talent is called leverage. We plug into an international internet company and share a valuable message about how to shop and save which can become the basis of possible royalty income for our children and grandchildren.
In the end for this unique home business, it is about a 7 minute Magical Call, not a song, which can show you how to start an extraordinary independent lifestyle. Will you tune in or out?
"I believe that for every drop of rain that falls, A flower grows. I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, A candle glows, I believe that for everyone who goes astray, someone will come To show the way..." Elvis Presley.
